About Mortgage Calculator

Independent, educational home-loan math tools. The domain keeps the common “morgage” spelling; we use “mortgage” in ordinary prose.

Who publishes this site

MorgageCalculator is published by an editorial team, not a named CFA, CFP, or loan officer we invented for search. There is no personal LinkedIn attached to these pages because we will not fabricate credentials. Copy is editorially reviewed; we are not a lender and we do not originate, broker, or pre-approve loans.

The site exists to make payment math inspectable: you can read the amortization formula, the PMI stand-in, and a worked example on our methodology page, then run the same inputs in the calculator.

What we will not claim

Documented models

Formulas and defaults are public. We do not call them “bank-grade” or promise they match a lender worksheet within a set percent.

Free and private

No account required. Calculator values are processed in your browser. We do not sell loans.

Six planning tools

Payment estimate, affordability, VA, FHA, refinance break-even, and amortization — each with its own assumptions.

Plain language

We explain what a number assumes. If an input is a placeholder (tax rate, example interest), we say so.

Editorial standards

We do not publish unverifiable user counts or star ratings. Market rates are not invented as “this week’s average.” See the editorial policy for how we review pages and take corrections.

Disclaimer

Results are estimates for education only. Actual loan terms, interest rates, taxes, insurance, and payments vary. Consult a licensed mortgage professional before you borrow. MorgageCalculator is not a lender and does not provide loans or pre-approvals.
